Retail Consultant; 2016

I recently consulted with The Bitter Southerner web magazine on their growing online retail platform, The Bitter Southerner General Store. Systems and procedures were established to efficiently present and deliver Southern artisan wares to an e-commerce audience. The editorial focused brand that shares stories about Southern drinking, cooking, reading, loving and playing provides good material to inspire the merchandising team. The General Store builds brand awareness and generates revenue to fuel the primary creative writing effort.

 
 
 
 

Mainly Baskets

When Mainly Baskets re-entered the Atlanta International Gift Market, I was commissioned to coordinate a textile line to accompany their wicker furniture, design exhibition space and develop a mailer.  Once the statement samples were assembled, I commissioned artist Anne Bohne to delineate the scene for the show invitation.

CAPITAL HEALTH MEDICAL CENTER HOPEWELL

Retail and Merchandising Consultant 2009 – 2011

The amenity proponents of Capital Health Medical Center Hopewell, New Jersey were leased, designed, and made ready for opening by a small consulting team, Retail Connections. We collaborated with the architects, designers and management from early planning to opening. My part was developing concepts, designing floor plans, fixtures, signage, packaging, buying merchandise and directing visual merchandising for three on-campus retail stores. We provided a year-long budget, sales projections, inventory and open-to-buy plans.
